In compliance with the Apple App Store and Google Play Store data safety and account deletion policies, this page explains how you can easily delete your Fly Virga account, what happens to your data upon deletion, and how to submit a deletion request online without needing the mobile app installed.
How to Request Account & Data Deletion
You may choose either of the two methods below to delete your account and personal data:
Data Deletion vs. Retention Scope
When an account deletion request is processed, the table below outlines exactly what data is deleted and what minimal information may be retained in accordance with aviation safety and statutory requirements:

| Aviation Weather Center (AWC) PIREPs | Official weather observations (turbulence, icing, clouds, coords, altitude) transmitted to FAA/NWS AviationWeather.gov. | Anonymized / Public Archive | Submitted PIREPs transmitted to the official FAA/NWS aviation weather system become part of the public national airspace safety archive and cannot be altered or recalled from federal records. In Virga's systems, all personal profile links to past reports are severed and anonymized. |

Verification Process & Timeline
To protect our users from unauthorized deletion requests, requests submitted via web form or email require ownership verification of the registered email address.
- In-App Deletions: Initiated directly with authenticated credentials; takes effect immediately.
- Web & Email Requests: You will receive a verification email at the registered account address. Once verified, all associated data is deleted from our active production systems within 30 days.
